Zaira

Position:

Deputy Room Leader

About Me:

My name is Zaira, and I am a Deputy Room Leader at Monkey Puzzle Chesham.

What fills your heart with happiness about your role?

Learning new skills and knowledge. Helping children learn and grow, giving them the opportunity to explore our everyday world in a fun and secure environment. I love to watch them grow to become individuals full of pure happiness and independence.

How did you get your career started in Early Years?

I’ve always wanted to work with children so the fact I’m living and breathing this everyday whilst learning new skills to further myself is something I am so grateful for.

How are you supported at Monkey Puzzle to develop and progress your career?

Monthly quizzes on everyday practices and policies to ensure we are on top of our game. The nursery has supported me through my Level 3 qualification – allowing me to support children across all age groups. They also support my personal development and career aspirations, internal promotions, and staff meetings that involve the training needs of the staff. I really feel my leadership and management take the time to value us as a team and our opinions. This has made a huge difference to me, and I have been here for 2 years now.

What is your potential next step?

I would like to achieve higher qualifications and be an effective Room Leader as I start my journey in this role.

What would you say to anyone with a choice of early years childcare as a possible career path?

It’s fun being in childcare, it can be challenging and stressful at times being around groups of children, meaning you need patience, but what job doesn’t require this? You’re with children all day – have fun and enjoy seeing them grow and develop. It’s a really rewarding role to be in.
