As working parents, we have developed ideas to build what we think will be an outstanding nursery setting. Being parents of young children ourselves, this opportunity would mean having more time to spend with them. We want to give our children and other children the chance to flourish in a fun, safe, and caring environment.

At Monkey Puzzle Chesham, we aim to provide a happy, healthy and safe home from home environment in a nurturing and creative atmosphere.
Our aim is to provide enchanting and enabling environments for children, following a child-centred way of thinking that inspires children to learn in their own way. We teach children to respect and understand others and encourage them to become strong, confident and build independent characters by allowing them to explore the world around them and be inquisitive, critical thinkers that challenge what they see and learn. We aim to provide children with high quality educational equipment, materials and activities teaching them life practical skills they’ll need as they grow up.
Our in-house chef prepares fresh meals daily on site for the children that are both nutritional and well-balanced. Our children menus have been carefully crafted by paediatric nutritionists to ensure it contains a well-balanced diet and your 5 a day which contribute positively to their intellectual, physical, emotional and social development. We provide a 4-week rotational menu which celebrate the diversity in our nursery, with dishes from all around the world and flavours, we encourage children to expand their palette and understand there are different foods with different nutritional values. This in turn will contribute to positive eating habits.
Partnership with parents is at the heart of all we do. From the outset, we continually work with parents with settling in sessions prior to your child starting nursery. We support parents and carers in the development of their children, both at nursery and at home, and encourage parents to have an active involvement in nursery life with voluntary stay and play sessions, monthly newsletters, you said, we did approach to parent suggestions, regular progress meetings with your child’s key person, involvement sessions with parents and home learning opportunities.

We promote a variety of extra-curricular clubs at no extra cost so that all children have equal opportunities. We are confident this all-round experience will support your child and allow them to excel in activities they may not usually partake in, in a home environment.
We believe in inspiring our staff to be better, with excellence in everything we do. We aim to recruit passionate practitioners and grow staff to be the best they possibly can. By investing in our staff to build qualifications allow opportunity through experience, we will continue to build a committed, effective and motivated team. We ensure to develop, promote and keep all our staff up to date with current research, procedures, Early Years changes and education trends; this enables them to implement the very best practice that training can empower them with.
Our Pre-School group will have access to our interactive smart technology Whiteboard, which is an educational tool for the facilitation of media in learning. We have turned the negative stigma of “screen time” into a positive way of engaging children in learning. The Interactive Whiteboard’s touch screen feature allows children to interact with an information rich digital platform, whilst also practicing mark making, writing and group cooperation skills such as turn taking.
We encourage children to follow our go green ethos by having a strong emphasis on Recycle, Reduce and Reuse. We have implemented Famly, a nursery management solution App using iPad technology to document observations, log daily child records, report attendance and register children in/out, making the processes involved with excellent childcare as paper free as possible. Not only does this contribute towards caring for the planet, but it also gives our childcare professionals more valuable time to engage with your child instead of being bombarded with paper-work.
The App presents us with the opportunity to share your child’s successes and daily diary in real time, allowing you to stay up to date with their progress and send us your feedback at your own convenience.
We have equipped our nursery with natural real like resources, wooden furniture and installed eco-friendly handriers to reduce the use of paper towels.
