Monkey Puzzle Chesham embraces the season of goodwill for local charities ahead of nursery opening
We had a great time doing our bit in the local community this Christmas, ahead of the opening of our nursery in January at Rns House, Fullers Hill.
We held a charity stall at the ‘Christmas in Chesham’ event on Friday the 29 November, the town was truely in the festive spirit, and the evening ended with the spectacula Christmas lights switch on.
The stall featured games and a raffle, as well as handmade Christmas cards, decorations (sweet filled baubles) and children’s clothes from Boden, all proceeds went towards the Roald Dahl Marvellous Children’s Charity; a charity that helps employ nurses for seriously ill children and provide support to them and their families.
In addition to this, we have also collected 30 shoe boxes, which we filled with gifts for two local charities; the local Housing Interaction Trust that supports young people aged between 16-25 find a home, and Prevention Matters, a charity helping the isolated elderly.
“Helping people has always been at the core of what we do, and while Christmas is such a joyous time, it can also be very difficult for some.”
“Events like this are a great way to bring the community together, and giving back is an important message to spread, especially to the next generation. This is something we want to instil in our nursery when we open next year.”
