We are looking for a Nursery Deputy Manager with a minimum Level 3 qualification in childcare and experience working in a day nursery with children aged 3 months to 5 years of age.

Key Responsibilites

  • You will adhere to all company policies and procedures and ensure that these are adhered to by all staff
  • You can promote a good practice to meet the requirements of the EYFS
  • You can ensure appropriate planning and assessment is in place
  • You can provide leadership and support to all staff to enable them to establish professional and positive working relationships with both colleagues, parents and carers
  • You can deploy staff and shift/lunch rotas effectively
  • You can implement effective keyperson system
  • You can ensure that all children are kept safe and that staff are confident to follow safeguarding procedures
  • You will support the Nursery Manager to evaluate and promote reflective practice with all staff
  • You will conduct parent tours of the nursery
  • You will support the Nursery Manager with recruiting, inducting, supporting, training and appraising all staff to deliver high quality childcare practice
  • You will support the Nursery Manager in the day to day running of the nursery and help generate and plan ideas
  • You will support the Nursery Manager to facilitate inspections by regulatory bodies and implement any recommendations
  • You will support the Nursery Manager with all administrative duties, including maintaining children’s records, ordering resources and keeping personnel files
  • You will enjoy being in the rooms with children daily and cover any staff absences or emergency leave as required.

Essentials

  • You have a minimum full and relevant Level 3 qualification
  • You have excellent Safeguarding knowledge
  • You have a minimum of 2 years experience working in a leadership role
  • You can communicate confidently with adults and children
  • You are organised
  • You are approachable
  • You have good verbal and written communication skills
  • You are passionate about childcare and development and understand the EYFS
